Album: Solar panels

     Album:Palou:Solar panels

I had solar panels installed.

Since I can't qualify for the tax benefits if I install it myself I had to get a solar contractor.

I chose LA Solar. Big mistake. They were not terribly competent, and the whole ordeal took a ridiculous year.

I also have the roof stripped and resurfaced with TPO. Much to my surprise it has zero insulation or dead space, so I add a few inches of insulation while we're at it.

Mostly stripped.
Those wood boards are the same wood for my bedroom roof. Not a great insulation situation ( comments)
Looking back.
The roofer will add a few unches of insulation, but it would be higher than my sills on three of the sides,.. ( comments)
..so I quickly build them up
with some redwood before he sets the insulation. ( comments)
New sills.

Leaking roof
after the third failed solar install managed to damage my new roof. LA Solar Group, I am not happy. [Video, 34.4M] ( comments)
LA Solar also
dumps all the gear in front of my tenants doorway, blocking them in. Clever. They say they'll come move it right away, but don't. Great. ( comments)

It's almost a year later,
but I finally have panels up. ( comments)
Using negative electricity!

They installed them too close
together. So there's a shadow right in the middle of the day, but they have a production guarantee, and I'm tired of fighting them. ( comments)
The cheap patches fr..ir botched install..
