Save the date - Ksenia Parkhatskaya is coming to to Edinburgh for a weekend of solo authentic jazz, charleston and blues. Ksenia is a dancer, teacher, choreographer and singer for stage and TV. Her forte is Jazz Dance and Music. With a background in theatre, classical jazz and ballroom, her Swing & Jazz dance style is graceful yet theatrical. She is well known all over the world for her unique Charleston dance style and spectacular dance shows. Fastest feet, rubber legs, snake hips- that's how people describe Ksenia. Spreading authentic Jazz Era culture Ksenia is well known as an experimenter. Performing with contemporary jazz trios, creating choreographies to bebop she breaks the idea that jazz music after 1940 is non danceable. As an instructor she has a reputation for her sparkling personality, inspiring joy for life through dance. Her classes are an ocean of fresh innovative steps, challenging improvisation techniques, strong and subtle body movement work. Ksenia holds solo dancing titles at Swing & Jazz dance events in Europe, and has danced the Charleston on Ukrainian So You Think You Can Dance and Ukraine's Got Talent. Not to be missed!

There will be four streams at Swing Revolution 2015. Please note, levels are not based on time spent dancing but on your social dancing proficiency: Improver - You are confident with all the basic footwork pattern and are not afraid to get out on the dance floor but are looking for that little bit of spark. You have not had much experience with footwork variations or styling and want to push yourself to the next level. Intermediate - You ask them to dance and they ask you to dance another one! You are a confident and vibrant dancer who can make anyone's night. You are fine with all the basic Lindy and Charleston patterns and want to push yourself to be the best you can be. Advanced - The top end stuff. You are that guy (or girl) who everyone is queuing up for. You should have experience of many forms of vintage dance, be confident enough to perform publically (be it stage performance, competitions or teaching) and just generally be a boss at swing. This is going to be a hard level. Not for the faint of heart. Solo Jazz (New addition this year!) - Finally something to do by yourself. Ever had one of those dances that you cannot wait to dance to but don\'t have a partner? Show them what they are missing with some fab solo stuff.

The VLX is a weekend packed with dancing and fun activities in various towns in Vietnam held annually in March since 2009. 3 nights 2 days 7 dances with a well rounded bunch sharing the love for Swing dancing in Hoi An (means 'peaceful meeting place') ancient town, a Unesco World Heritage Site between a river and the seaside in Central Vietnam. Saigon Swing Cats team is happy to host VLX here due to popular demand and access to international airport (Danang International Airport is 40 mins away). See you there! Uppsala Boogie Woogie Weekend A whole weekend with workshop and social dances in Boogie Woogie. Do you feel like learning some new moves in Boogie Woogie and want to dance for a whole weekend? Well, then you should definitely come to Uppsala and join us! Schedule for the weekend: Friday night: Social dance with the live band Mr Pam with friends; Saturday night: Swing-night with Lindy Hop and Boogie Woogie Saturday and Sunday: Eight hours of workshops with two dance levels Classes will finish 4.00 pm at the latest on Sunday. Locations: Uppsala, Drabanten, Bangrdsgatan 13 (The social dance on the Friday night) map Uppsala, Grand, Tradsgardsgatan 5 (The rest of the weekend) map Price: 600 SEK for eight hours of workshop and admission to the social dance on Friday. The Hanse Hop set its sails in 2009. At that time we had the wish to invite international Lindy Hop-Trainers to Hamburg more often. Thinking about how a new workshop in Hamburg should be like, we decided us for a quite contrasting workshop concept compared to the other regular workshops in Hamburg. Since then the Hanse Hop has taken place on irregular basis - whenever we felt the energy to organize or thought that it's time again. One of the main ideas behind the Hanse Hop is to put the focus on intensive training in a more familiar atmosphere rather than having a huge, perfectly arranged event. The number of attendants is strictly limited as there are only two trainer couples teaching two tracks of manageable size. This workshop appeals to dedicated intermediate / advanced dancers who are eager to learn and seriously want to work on their techniques, dancing skills, musicality and fun in dancing as well as dancers who might already have started to share their enthusiasm for Lindy Hop by teaching other people. There will be exhausting and inspiring 10 hours of class - 5 hours with each of the trainer couples. The trainer have the time to intensively work with the groups and take their time for individual feedback whenever necessary. We're looking back on a varying line up for every Hanse Hop so far and there are still plenty of trainer couples we would love to invite to teach. We also try to present at least one teacher couple who has not been to Hamburg before, so stay curious in case you haven't met the teachers before.

Started with a bang in 2009, Camp Swing It (C.S.I.) is an event that truly represents the Korean swing scene and also the largest swing dance camp in Asia. A veritable festival of dancers, the three-day event enjoys the presence of all, from first-time dancers and newbies to already fabulous dancers in various events. The program at the Camp is full of workshops led by international champions, parties with live bands and the Korean Lindy Hop Championships - the largest of its kind in Korea, where all attendees regardless of levels become one and make ever-cherishable memories. The Weekend Galway Lindyfest 2015 will provide dancers with a fantastic opportunity to take workshops with some of the world's most renowned instructors in an intimate environment. This event will take place in two cities: Historic and Beatuiful Cracow and Zakopane which is located at the base of the Tatra mountains. During this event, not only will you be able to take workshops and dance during the evenings, but it also includes a train ride in a vintage steam locomotive from Cracow to Zakopane!

This is your one in a lifetime chance to go back in time and see how transportation by train was like in the beginning of the 20th century. Some of the cars we will be travelling are over 100 years old!

The Sunflower Swing Task Force is committed to making our event not just awesome, but WichitAwesome. That's like regular awesome, with a generous helping of Wichita sauce. What's Wichita sauce, you ask? The exact recipe is a closely held secret, but here are a few key ingredients we think you'll like:

Sleeping in: No Sunflower Swing classes will begin prior to noon. So go to late night, get your party on, and don't fret about making it to class on time the next day.

Level auditions: We don't do 'em. You're welcome for that sensation you're experiencing right now. It's probably your blood pressure dropping.

Wichita Original Competitions: Last year we held competitions like the Chicken Sandwich and 60 Second Showdown! This year, it's all that and more!

The Crew Experience: Since 2014, we've been dividing our event attendees into "crews." Your crew will be the group of people you'll see in every class on Saturday. (Sunday's classes are all electives - you could see anybody in there. Anybody.) Unlike other events who either make every class a free-for-all or divide students strictly by audition results, Sunflower Swing assigns crews with a social goal in mind: We want you to meet and dance with as many awesome new partners as possible. To that end, crews are comprised of dancers from as many communities as possible. Don't worry, you'll still have plenty of time with your local besties. Each Saturday class consists of TWO crews.. So you'll have maximum exposure to your own crew, plus a smaller amount of shared class time with each of the others. By the end of the weekend, we promise you'll have some new friends! And to give you a chance to bond, we allot some time specifically for the Crew Challenge, which could be anything.

Recess has been producing progressive, boundary pushing, culture creating events in the American partner dancing scene over the past 9 years.

This is the second official Recess outside of the United States and will serve as a small, intimate, and playful testing ground for the what we want our dance community to be. Kind of like a fun-filled, fantasy-driven weekend... or a lived-in premonition of what we want the future to be!

We will spend three days and four nights dancing, eating, camping, and making merry in the mountains of the French countryside 2 hours south of Lyon, France. Our setting is the Ferme Les Costes. Pablo Inza (Argentina) Pablo Inza. Dancer, choreographer, stage director and tango teacher. With a rich background in contemporary dance, artistic performance and direction, he started dancing tango in 1992 with both amateur milongueros as well as renowned maestros. He participated as dancer and choreographer in many tango shows in Argentina and also internationally. Since 1999 he has been invited to teach and perform in the most prestigious festivals. As stage director he created "Radio Cabulero"(presented in Bergen International Festival in 2002, Norway) "El arte de amar" (Tangomagia VI 2003, Holland). In Buenos Aires he did "El camion" (2001-02); "Matambre" (2003), "Metronomo" (2004), "Living" (2008) and "En el abrazo"(2012). Between 2004 and 2009 he was the producer and artistic director of Cambalache (a festival based on a fusion of tango, theater and contemporary dance). He was also one of the founders of Practica X (2004-2012) which was one of the most frequented practicas in Buenos Aires. Pablo Inza is considered by many to be one of the present day tango scene's most influential figures and has won respect worldwide for his innovative and creative style. Pablo's personal style is rich in contrasting dynamics and playful musicality.Frequently invited to some of the largest tango festivals in Europe and North America, Pablo has been teaching and performing around the world since 1999. An excellent teacher with a great capacity for analysis and an innate sense of musicality, Pablo's classes are popular amongst dancers of all levels.
Sofia Saborido (Argentia) Dancer and tango teacher with a large background of theatre, ballet, modern and jazz dance. Great grand-daughter of Enrique Saborido (dancer, musician and composer of tangos like La Morocha or Felicia and many others) Sofia started dancing tango when she was only 10 years old. At the age of 12 she enters in the young tango ballet of La Plata. In 2000 she works in the dinner show "La Cumparsita" and performs every Sunday at the historic show of plaza Dorrego, in San Telmo. In 2006 she wins the 4th place of in the tango championship of Buenos Aires. In 2009 and 2010 she participates as main dancer in the show "Tango Argentique" presented in the Theatre Festival of Avignon. Since 2006 she develops an intensive pedagogical activity and is invited to teach in many countries such as France, Italy, Spain, Japan, Switzerland, Greece, Sweden, United Kingdom etc. Sofia is a delicate and intense dancer, a jewel of the new tango generation. Rich in musicality and quality of movement her dancing is based on a refined and sensitive connection. Very appreciated for her pedagogical method, she teaches in Europe since 2006 giving workshops, seminars and festivals.

We will spend three days and four nights dancing, eating, camping, and making merry in the mountains of the French countryside 2 hours south of Lyon, France. Our setting is the Ferme Les Costes. Welcome to your all inclusive movement and dance immersion experience in scenic Cornwall. Come and Join Brenda Russell and Catherine Palimer for this week of amazing workshops and a full weekend of dancing and Parties. Start each day breathing in the country air during morning qi gong exercises, group meals on the picturesque terrace. Breakfast will be followed by a morning of workshops with a leisurely break for lunch, enjoy the afternoon in the sun, or napping in the shade. Classes resume each afternoon/evening with partnering sessions, blues movement, body conditioning, music classes, or relaxing tired muscles in the sauna or hot tub. The summer evenings dancers can enjoy , shared meals, chats and jam sessions round the fire pit and dancing under the stars. Sleep the night away in the cosy Hobbit Houses or the luxury of the Hotel and awake refreshed for the next day. At the end of the week we will be traveling to Bristol for a weekend of exploring Bristol Harbour festival and Bristol Blues Exchange.

Hit That Jive Productions is very excited to present Edmonton's first week-long dance camp: Edmonton Lindy Hop Showcase! Edmonton Lindy Hop Showcase will focus on performance Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz with 3 amazing instructors from the USA: Michael Jagger, Evita Arce, and Laura Glaess! You will be working with a partner of your choosing on advanced-level training, technique, choreography, and more! ELHS will have two partnered tracks, daytime classes, evening dances, and a very special Showcase at the end of the week where the students can show the Lindy Hop community the awesome stuff that they have been working on. Schedule: Daytime Classes: 12pm-6pm Evening Dances: 9pm-2am Each track will have 3-4 hours of class per day. In January of 2015, a novel format for workshop and festival design was attempted, City In Motion Dance Weekend (CIMDW). A weekend focused on body movement, blending tradition with experimentation, mixing dance with martial arts, while connecting with and looking for inspiration in music, partners, and one's self.

Using the same core concepts, City In Motion presents: Closer Encounters. Where CIMDW is an all you can eat buffet of body movement exercises and activities, Closer Encounters is a highly focused workshop weekend that concentrates on body language.

A weekend focused on body movement, blending tradition with experimentation, mixing dance with martial arts, while connecting with and looking for inspiration in music, partners, and one's self.

Using the same core concepts, City In Motion presents: Closer Encounters. Where CIMDW is an all you can eat buffet of body movement exercises and activities, Closer Encounters is a highly focused workshop weekend that concentrates on body language.

In August 2015 the very first Ceuvel Swing Camp will take place!

With: Audun Kveberg, Kris Blindert, Laura Stahl, Pieter Aart Schouten, Anika Kopfüber, Myriam Meret and more!

Ceuvel Swing Camp is based on the following idea:
We bring as many people together who want to learn from each other; the Lindy-Hop teachers can learn from a teacher's trainer, who can learn from a contemporary dancer who wants to learn some blues, etc... And since all of these people are in one place together, anybody else can come and profit from their knowledge!

Since everyone comes to learn something different, and because we believe that individual attention is the best way to learn, the weekend includes two private classes for each participant, by a teacher of choice. Beside that, you can take all the theme classes that are going on. This year's theme classes (and private class subjects) include: Lindy, blues, contemporary dance and yoga. And more will be announced soon!

Furthermore:

- All locations are within crawling distance of each other: workshop rooms, party location, swimming spot, central hangout, dinning hall and possibly even your bed.. (we're working on that).

For 2015 our favorite Recess will implode back to being its normal amazing self. As usual, the inspiring Lookout Arts Quarry plays our host: a magical setting of an 86 acre rock quarry turned circus community south of Bellingham, WA.

The days will be filled with swimming and cliff-jumping in the flooded quarry pits and hiking in the thousands of acres of surrounding national forest! The nights will be filled with dancing in the circus warehouse, the Recess Bus, as well as the legendary floating dance floor that Recess custom built three years ago.

We are excited to be running Swing Fastival for the 2nd year. This is a fabulously, fun weekend focusing on the faster swing dance styles. Collegiate Shag, Balboa and technique for fast Lindy Hop, taught by six of the very best talented international teachers. Friday check in then Taster Classes and evening dance. Saturday 4 hours of workshops plus evening dance with live band The Shirt Tail Stompers. Sunday 4 hours of workshop plus tea dance. Light lunches are included on both Saturday & Sunday. Clothing and Shoe stalls. Bookings will open on 24th February 2015.
